How long does it take to receive Bank of America credit card in the mail?

May 08, 2010 By: admin Category: Credit

Smile & Wave asked:

I was approved for a BoA credit card online Monday, and it said it would take 7-10 business days. Unfortunately, I have something that MUST be paid on the 15th. Is there any way to speed this process along? The website wasn’t very helpful. There’s one right here in town, but I’m not sure if they’ll be much help. Isn’t there a rush processing option or something? I’ll pay extra!

Online Credit Card Processing

March 31, 2010 By: admin Category: Credit

Michael Torino asked:

On having an internet store or retail e-commerce website, you will require online credit card processing. Online merchant account and credit card payment gateway together can provide your customers an option to purchase goods any time and anywhere, with a click of the mouse.

Here is a brief description of how online credit card processing actually works. The online customer interested in purchasing product or service from merchant searches and reaches the concerned merchant s website. Through merchant s website, customer does purchase and before leaving the website enters their billing information. For any payment to be done online, security is must.

If merchant s website is not having secured webpage then the customer is to be transferred to secured payment gateway. If merchant s website is a secured one then without leaving the site, the billing information of the customer is passed on to the payment gateway, which is further transmitted to the processor. The processor passes the billing information received from online payment gateway onto the credit card issuer bank. The issuer bank verifies the validity of the card and whether the amount requested on card is available or not. Once the requested amount by the customer is available, the bank set aside that amount for the merchant and sends back an approval number; otherwise a decline message is sent by the issuer bank to the processor which in turn passes back to merchant s site.

If the merchant is not having a secure site, the gateway may pass the approval information to the customer directly. Final payment is deposited in the internet merchant s account. This normally takes two business days.

Few important points to remember before setting your online credit card processing for your business. Even though online merchant accounts needs few days to set up but it is always better to start the procedure of its setting few weeks in advance to the actual time you start using it, since there may be many other important items to be worked on in the last few days before you open your new business.

There are many companies or banks offering online credit card processing but always opt for the one who are experts in this field so that you get the best deal in terms of advice, software and costs, therefore always prefer Power Pay Services. The companies or banks not specialize in online credit card processing can never be update with the latest trends and features available in market, thereby making your account lacking in many latest developments. The online credit card processing fees is different from retail credit card processing. All the processing fees to be levied should be properly stated and if you have any doubt better clear it before it s too late.

Let your online credit card processing have an established gateway company. Even though newer gateway companies may have excellent products but a high degree of reliability can be expected from established older companies like Power Pay Services. Always it is better to opt for company with proven records.

The Most Dangerous Online Credit Card Scams to Look Out For!

December 08, 2009 By: admin Category: Credit

Jimmy Roos asked:

Ask any credit card owner what they fear the most and they’re likely to tell you they fear falling prey to a credit card scam.

Although credit scams have been around for as long as we can remember it is especially now with the advent of the internet that they have become a real headache.

The particular danger with online scams is that it may take a while before you notice it; and by that time your credit card may have been totally maxed out, leaving you in a deep dark hole.

Of course, you can proof that you were not responsible for such debts especially if they happened in a far off place where you could not have been.

However such an experience can shake you up so much, that it puts you off buying online for good.

Now one of the most common ways to get sucked into an online scam is through email. The e-mails are so professionally done that people get fooled easily.

These type of scams are called “phishing” and how it works is this. You’ll receive an email which purports to come from your credit card company, while in reality it is not.

The email message will link to a website prepared by the scammers. When arriving at the website you’ll be prompted to enter your credit card details.

The moment you do this you’ll have revealed your credit card details to the scammers who can then go on a shopping spree with your credit card until it’s maxed out.

Hence the best advice I can give anyone is this. Never click on a link in an email from someone you don’t trust, even if it threatens to suspend or close your account. This by the way, is a well-known tactic used by scammers to prompt you into taking the desired action, which is to click on their email link.

One thing to remember is that a real and legitimate business will never ask for your personal details in an email. The best thing to do if you’re at all suspicious about an email you received is to give your credit card company a call. They will quickly be able to tell you if this email is legitimate or not. They will probably give you an email address, so that you can forward the suspicious email to them.
