Text Messaging Done Right with uBoostBellevue, WA (PRWEB) February 13, 2012
uBoost, the nation’s premiere student motivation program, announced the results of its most recent pilot with a national test prep program proving that SMS messaging can radically impact the amount of independent test prep completed by students. uBoost customers can now utilize “texting with a twist” to increase student behaviors that they find most valuable in maximizing program participation and completion.
Results of the pilot were staggering. On average, students in the program group exhibited 87% more activity than students in the control group, as measured by number of questions answered correctly.
Pilot participants opted in to participating in the program and were split into two groups. The program group received texts reminding them to prepare for their December 3, 2011 SAT test. The nine text messages sent over the two weeks leading up to the test used social normative pressure, prizes and status updates to drive more independent test prep. The control group did not receive any texts. When program participants completed test prep questions, they continued to receive their uBoost credits in addition to contest entries for prizes like iPads, gift cards and iPods. Winners were selected and announced during the pilot period, encouraging participants to continue to work hard.
“This analyzing proved that sending messages to users in relevant ways, such as texting, can dramatically increase logons, participation and performance,” said John Bower, CEO of uBoost. “Even students seen motivated and pursued can be influenced to do more served if properly triggered. The user motivation ecosystem must include behavior triggers to be truly effective. Our customers are working closely with us to create customized programs that deliver relevant messages with the goal of driving usage, achievement and ultimately completion.”

RoadFish.com Releases Their Top Consumer Tips as Richard Cordray is Appointed Director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau

RoadFish.com Releases Their Top Consumer Tips as Richard Cordray is Appointed Director of the Consumer Financial Protection BureauWashington, D.C. (PRWEB) January 05, 2012
Today, RoadFish.com men’s financial and lifestyle magazine released their top tips for consumers. RoadFish felt many consumers are not aware of what resources they have and what to look out for when spending money. The economy has taken a hit and it is time everyone became educated on what it means to spend that all-mighty dollar and how to do it smart.
The release of RoadFish’s tips comes right at the time the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) receives a director. The CFPB is listed as one of the resources touted by RoadFish.com. On January 4th, 2012, Obama appointed Richard Cordray in a recess appointment as the director of the CFPB. The CFPB was created to make sure consumers are treated fairly and protected.
As quoted by the editor of RoadFish, “I am excited that the U.S. government is taking a stronger stance on abusive practices by credit card companies. I think people need to pay their bills, and if they borrow money, they should pay it back. On the other hand, an individual can get totally lost if there is something truly wrong in the credit world, and they have no one to turn to. The big banks are not always as sensitive and caring as they should be. Having strong protections in place for when people are truly wronged is an important part of the checks and balances system.”
Among listing the CFPB RoadFish also discusses how to be a smart consumer by doing research and seeking out the knowledge to make better decisions. They list performing a credit check, making sure you read the fine print on contracts, and overall understanding of what terms and conditions really mean.

Rent My Vacation Home Stops Scams in 2012

Rent My Vacation Home Stops Scams in 2012Orlando,Florida (PRWEB) December 27, 2011
Rent My Vacation Home dot com offers tips on how to keep a family from the type of scams below that are now commonplace in the USA. Two men are accused of scamming at least 15 vacation home renters out of more than $ 50,000, police said Wednesday.
These men allegedly posed as vacation rental agents on the top 3 major internet vacation home rental sites showing clients online photographs of properties they claimed were for rent.
They received down-payments from clients, who would arrive to find that the residence they thought they had reserved but had never been available for rent, according to police. The 2 were also charged with theft as well as allegedly renting the same homes to people. They were not allowed to do business on Rent My Vacation Home as they tried to stay listed but were removed.
How does a honest family guard against this type of fraud?
1. Use sites like Rent My Vacation Home that offer guarantees to you against fraud or your money back.
2. Never send a check to anyone ever your routing number to your bank and the account number is on the bottom.
3. Insist they take a credit card for payment
4. Never send security deposits and payments for damage in advance
5. Always make sure you can cancel in case of emergency
6. Always be wary of a key in the mail.
CEO of Rent My Vacation Home, Mr. Jay Kalin, said, “On our site http://www.rentmyvacationhome.com unlike the other holiday rental netting sites. We check every listing and tell our vacationing customers that they will be given a warranty against fraud if the vacation renter gets travel guard insurance and uses the e-online data credit card check out system built into every listing.”
“If the customer uses the Rent My Vacation Home dot com website and the home is a fraud the warranty policy protects them,” Kalin said. “That is one less worry the vacationer has this summer season and if they have any doubt about the vacation home they are about to rent from any other site ask if the owner if he can list on Rent My Vacation Home site for free and the stay will have a guarantee the stay policy in place.”
Renting from a vacation home owner can and should be a great experience for the entire family this New year 2012. Please use the rules above and be careful and never assume that the vacation homeowner is the only home available.
Shop around and do not take chances with your vacation. Always remember if it looks too good to be true it is. Try to use quality web sites like http://www.rentmyvacationhome.com that have all the above safeguards in place already. Make the New Year of 2012 the best family trip ever.

PayItSquare.com Teams Up with Chicago Sport and Social Club to Help Team Captains Collect Fees

PayItSquare.com Teams Up with Chicago Sport and Social Club to Help Team Captains Collect FeesGrand Rapids, MI (PRWEB) December 22, 2011
Pay It Square is partnering with Chicago Sport and Social Club, the nation’s largest provider of recreational sports leagues, premier social events and local social networking with over 70,000 annual participants. Team captains in the Club often front the league fee required for whole-team registration, or attempt to collect money beforehand. Pay It Square’s online payment service is designed to help the team captains or organizers of the Club divvy up and collect money owed by teammates.
Pay It Square is designed specifically to eliminate the pains associated with collecting money from a group of people. Rather than having to pester the players, captains can easily set up a personalized page on Pay It Square, invite their teammates to pay their share, and collect the money online. Teammates can make payments to the captain with any major credit card, PayPal account, or bank transfer. Chicago Sport and Social Club requires payment to reserve a spot in their leagues, and this service is designed to help team captains collect that payment.
“Pay It Square provides our teams an efficacious and easy way to pool their money together to pay for their teams and alleviates a lot of pressure from team captains,” says Chicago Sport & Social Club Vice President Christ Hastings, “Paying for a team and having to amass from your teammates can be a burden and we experience that Pay It Square will do the process easier for everyone.”
The personalized page can be easy shared through email or societal media, such as Facebook and Twitter. With the click of a button, captains can equip automatonlike email reminders to people who haven’t payed yet, or publically display who has payed and who hasn’t. When a payment is submitted, the captain or organizer receives the funds in his or her PayPal account. Offline payments, such as cash or watch, can besides be easy entered.
“If you’ve ever tried to collect money from a group of people, you know what a pain it can be. You’re running around with a clipboard, trying to keep track of cash or check payments. It’s a headache to keep it all straight. That, and there’s always a few slowpokes,” says Brian Anderson, Founder of Pay It Square. “Our service solves this problem by allowing for online collections. You set up a page, share it, and collect. A partnership with an organization like Chicago Sport and Social Club is a natural fit.”
In addition to recreational sports, Pay It Square can be used to collect money for trips, fundraisers, reunions, clubs, parties, and other events. The Featured Pages section showcases how others are currently using the service to collect money.
