I rent items and want to be able to put a “security hold” on their credit card like a hotel does in case they break the items. It would be nice to also have the same service be able to accept credit card payments to be able to charge their rentals.

Okay be extremely wary of using your credit card on line because once you have submitted your cc number it becomes accessible to the company and they will continue to bill you for various iteims. Always read the fine print I have had this problem many times and this has caused my bank account to bounce like a basketball. What they do is say you order a cd online and only want that cd swell they will continue to send you cd’s that you did not order or do not want and charge you for it….BE VERY CAREFUL

Five Things to Do Before Leaving Home on Black Friday
Posted on November 27th, 2011 No comments
Five Things to Do Before Leaving Home on Black FridayWashington, DC (PRWEB) November 21, 2011
For many, shopping on Black Friday has become as much of a Thanksgiving tradition as turkey, with friends and families whipping up a shopping strategy along with the dressing and gravy.
The National Foundation for Credit Counseling advises consumers to shop smart by planning ahead. Following are five steps consumers should take before hitting the stores on Black Friday, helping them enjoy their shopping excursion without harming their pocketbook.
Beware of special credit card offers – Issuers are tempting consumers by offering incentives such as no interest balance transfers, extra perks by meeting certain spending levels, and increased cash back in specified categories. However, no deal is a good deal if you can’t afford it. Responsible shoppers will commit to spending no more than what they can repay in full when the bill arrives, regardless of how many bonuses are tacked on. Know what you currently owe – Review all existing debt obligations, tallying what you’ve already spent and committed to repay. This reality check may put a temporary damper on your holiday mood, but that’s better than digging the financial hole even deeper. Create a plan – Knowing who you’re shopping for, what items you hope to find, and most importantly, how much you intend to spend is critical to a successful shopping day. Commit in advance to stick to your plan, and enlist an accountability partner if necessary, as it is very easy to be caught up in the excitement of the moment and get off course. Find the best deals at home – Shop from home before heading for the stores. Compare prices online, as well as local circulars for sales in your area. Be aware of time restrictions, as some prices may only apply during certain time periods throughout the day. Once the actual shopping begins, going directly to the store which has your item at a good price will save you time, gas, money and frustration.
Remove all unnecessary cards from your wallet – Spreading purchases across multiple cards makes you feel as though you’re charging less and can trick you into overspending. Designate one card for holiday spending, and remove all others from your wallet. This will not only help you stay within your budget, but will also lessen the damage in case of loss or theft. “It is important for consumers to shop with their head, not their heart,” said Gail Cunningham, spokesperson for the NFCC. “Preparing in advance will help you stick to your budget, in spite of the decorations, carols and Santa himself beckoning you to spend.”

Answer by specialk
I had a similar experience with Washington Mutual. They said that a credit card application could be approved in as little as 30 seconds. However, when I applied they told me that a decision would be sent in the mail. I thought it meant I was declined, but about 2 weeks later I received my card in the mail. Also remember that if you are declined you have the right to receive a free copy of your credit describe. They will instruct you on how to obtain this in the letter they send you.

How does instant online credit card approval work?
Posted on November 12th, 2011 No comments
Question by Jane: How does instant online credit card approval work?
Is there such a thing when you apply for a new credit card to transfer a balance to? Will you find away instantly if you were officially approved for the new card? Or does a human being have to review your application first?
Best answer:
Answer by ningwasana
Once you hit submit, within 60 seconds you will receive an answer if you are approved, if you are not approved, it will usually say they need further information and will give you an answer by mail in 7-10 days. Historically, this usually means you didn’t get approved, but that is not 100%, it will be reviewed by a human more than likely at this time. Almost all credit card applications have an option while you are filling out the application to fill out account that you want to balance transfer to your new card, if you are approve, they will pay those balances for you.
