Is it illegal to use a fake name when ordering something online with your own credit card?

Nothing is stolen and the card is yours. You just do not want to use your real name for privacy reasons.

That’s considered Perjury. Read the terms and conditions, I bet it’s in the fine print. They say about ten times to make sure the stuff is accurate. Um, that is supposing you get caught. Um, since it’s asking for the name for the card and billing address, I would say technically that it’s perjury, and that if you get caught that it would be a real pain proving that it’s you and not identity theft. I mean you can try, and hope that you don’t get caught.
I wouldn’t risk getting caught over something like ordering online. I mean you could always request for the business to privatize your name or not have your name on the package, but addressed to the house. Or you could admit that your paying for it, but label it as a gift, and have it mailed somewhere else, and just use that person’s name… I think I’m over thinking this (and so are you to an extent), but good luck. I hope I helped.

That’s why online merchants have a privacy policy. It would be illegal for them to release your information without your prior consent.
