  • How long does it take to receive Bank of America credit card in the mail?

Posted on May 8th, 2010 admin 2 comments
    Smile & Wave asked:

I was approved for a BoA credit card online Monday, and it said it would take 7-10 business days. Unfortunately, I have something that MUST be paid on the 15th. Is there any way to speed this process along? The website wasn’t very helpful. There’s one right here in town, but I’m not sure if they’ll be much help. Isn’t there a rush processing option or something? I’ll pay extra!

  • Advantages Of An Online Student Credit Card Application

Posted on May 8th, 2010 admin No comments
    Morgan Hamilton asked:

Their are several advantages of an online student credit card application over the traditional paper ones that we receive through the mail. Chief among them is the simple fact that if the application is on a credible web site it will contain not only the information pertaining to that offer, but there should be several other similar offers that you will be able to compare.

It really is a matter of comparison shopping to find the best deal. Another advantage of using the Internet is the wealth of information that can obtained. Simply reading the terms outlined on an online student credit card application doesn’t bring forth the entire picture. Because a student credit card is likely the first credit card that an individual will have, there are other factors to consider.

The ability to monitor your card activity through the bank or credit card issuers web site is a valuable tool that should not be underestimated. For concerned parents that want their student to have the financial resources that a credit card can offer, but may be a bit leery of giving that much financial freedom to a youngster, it is an excellent way to make sure it is being used wisely.

It also offers full statements so that you can see exactly where you stand with regards to purchases, payments, current interest rates and so on. In many cases the online statement that you have access to will be updated on a daily basis. This is important because you will know exactly what is going on with the account at any given time, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

It is recommended that you obtain an online student credit card application from a secure site such as Find-Cards-Now.com. All of the major credit card companies, including Discover Card, Citibank, Chase and Bank of America, offer credit cards for college students. But most assuredly, not all offers are the same. Please do your homework and read the fine print before deciding to apply.

You will also want to make sure that the application for the offer that you choose to apply for has the provisions of their lost card policy clearly spelled out. College campuses can be quite hectic and youngsters can at times be a bit careless. The student credit card application must offer full protection against lost cards, fraud, theft and unauthorized use.

  • Today’s Online Credit Card Offers

You probably get credit card offers in the mail on a daily basis. All of them will tell you that you’ve been pre-approved for a card; you need only call the number provided to get your card. Of course, you as often as not will call these numbers only to wait a long time (even months!) waiting to find out if you have actually been approved for a card. Because of this, online credit card applications have come along – when applying online, you get your answer in minutes instead of weeks.

If you have good credit, it shouldn’t be any trouble to get a credit card over the web. In fact, these cards often have better interest rates than other credit cards. You should know your credit score before you apply for a card, but the internet makes this information easy to locate. There are a multitude of websites which will give you this information for free.

You should check your credit report two to three times a year to catch anything unusual.

Being turned down for a credit card can be detrimental to your credit rating. These denials will show up on your credit report. You should make an effort to fix any problems which show up on your credit report – which may be easier said than done. You should, however, take care of any problems as soon as you can to protect your credit rating.

Knowing your credit score can make the decision of which credit card to apply for easier. You can get your answer within minutes.

Ay application for a credit card is going to require you to furnish some personal information, such as phone number, address, name, SSN, age, income ad so one. Not providing this information will lead to your application being denied.

Before applying for that credit card, be absolutely sure that you understand all of the terms of the contract; it’s legally binding, so you must understand the rules before you apply.

The terms of service will be right there on the website for the credit card company that you want to apply for a card from. If this information is not present, move on to another company. The most vital piece of information you need about the card is the APR.

Research any site you are considering applying for a card from. After all, you’ll be giving your personal information to this site, so it has to be secure.

An encryption standard of less that SSL 128 bit should be a no-go (or at the very least, think carefully before applying here). SSL 128 bit is the industry standard and is considered to be secure.

Before submitting your application, check and check again through your application to make sure there are no errors there. You’ll have your answer moments after sending you application in. For the most part, this will be an on screen notification, though it can also be sent by email. If your application is being turned down, they will give you some information on why the application was denied.

If your application is approved, you’ll get your card in a few days via the mail. You’ll be able to activate ad use it as soon as it comes in the mail.

It’s easier than ever before to apply for a credit card; online, you’ll get an answer almost instantly, rather than waiting weeks and weeks for an answer.

  • Making sure your Online Credit Card Processing is Secure

    Rebecca Beckett asked:

It’s so easy making purchases online and just waiting until they arrive in the mail. However, with this rise in web business and online credit card processing, people need to be even more diligent in protecting their identity. Make sure you are playing it smart when it comes to using internet transactions to make your life easier.

Credit cards are the most common way people pay for things online. While some options also include paypal, direct from your checking account or e-check, most people tend to rely on credit cards. You should not be afraid to shop online or store your information online. However, you can easily make yourself smarter regarding some of the scams out there and also how to make sure you are shopping from a secure source.

    1. Keep your internet browser updated. Browsers have security software capabilities and you need to keep this information up to date. Make sure you are using the latest encryption technology.

    2. You can look for digital certificates to validate the identity of the site you visit. Look for the VeriSign logo on the site or other such independent services, which will assure you that the site is legitimate.

    3. Read the privacy policy. Make sure that your personal information isn’t being sold or passed around.

    4. Use one credit for online purchases rather than several.

    5. Every once in awhile you may receive those scam e-mails asking you to verify your personal information, passwords or credit card numbers. Don’t fall for these e-mails. Never give out this kind of information unless you know exactly who is requesting it.

    6. Keep receipts and keep track of your credit card statements.

    7. You will almost always get an online receipt when you purchase. Make sure you receive one.

    8. Keep an eye on the domain. Make sure you are not transferred to an outside site trying to steal your information.

More and more people are using the internet to save costs during this troubled economy. From online subscription services allowing you to get household items at monthly increments to buying gifts for the whole family, there is a reason for everyone to flock to the web. It is a great way to comparison shop. Online banking too is becoming more commonplace. The days of check writing are in the past and the days of bill pay, credit and debit cards are here to stay. In fact, even a lot of media is now online allowing users to purchase downloadable television shows, movie and music. We have not seen the end of the wonders and possibilities available with the internet.

Act smart when you purchase things online, pay your bills or handle other banking matters. You don’t have to shy away from the internet as more and more things are becoming easier to handle online. However, you should stay smart. Protect yourself so those scam artists don’t steal your identity. If you do become afraid that you are a victim of identity theft check your credit report online. Stay on top of your information so that you can make sure it is accurate. If you take some simple steps to keep your information safe you will be able to shop online with peace of mind.
